Off the golden ball, an additional delivery played as a tie breaker in the European Cricket Series, in the game between United CC and Prague CC Rocks, the wicketkeeper made an error that allowed the batting side to turn the result around.

With two runs needed off the golden ball, the batsman could only push the ball to point and took off for a run. The throw came in at the keeper’s end where the batsman had made his ground while the non-striker was still out of his ground. The keeper dislodged the bails and set off for celebrating the ‘win’. According to the golden ball, a single off the delivery is still a loss for the batting side.

However, as the fielding side was celebrating, the batsmen, the non-striker at the keeper’s end in particular very alert to the possibility, sneaked in the extra run as the wicketkeeper had disturbed the stumps with the batsman inside the crease. The ‘keeper and fielders looked on in astonishment as the non-striker ground his knee and slid in at the keeper’s end to celebrate the win.
