Watch: Matt Renshaw claimed a sensational, full-length diving slip catch in Somerset’s One-Day Cup clash against Surrey.
The Australia international flew to his left to cling on one-handed to dismiss Surrey opener Ryan Patel.
The spectacular grab came early in the game, Patel falling for 13 on the first ball of the sixth over. Somerset’s Kacey Aldrige sought out the outside-edge of the left-hander, with the ball flying fast to Renshaw’s left.
Stood at first slip, Renshaw used all his height, stretching as far as he could to hold on to a stunner fully horizontal.
The catch drew immediate comparisons to Andrew Strauss’ catch of Adam Gilchrist off Andrew Flintoff in the fourth Test of the 2005 Ashes. Renshaw is in good company.
