Watch: Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman grabbed a stunning return catch off his own bowling, diving to one side to dismiss New Zealand’s Cole McConchie during the fourth T20I between the two sides in Dhaka.
Mustafizur was the pick of the bowlers alongside Nasum Ahmed for Bangladesh, prising open New Zealand’s middle order and finishing with figures of 4-12. His and Nasum’s four-wicket hauls ensured that New Zealand ended their innings on 93, the third time in the series that the Black Caps have been bundled out for a sub-100 score.
It was Mustafizur’s second four-wicket haul in the format (he has also taken a five-for, against New Zealand), but one dismissal on Wednesday stood out for the left-arm seamer’s remarkable presence of mind and athleticism.
New Zealand No.8 Cole McConchie couldn’t get off the mark, leaving New Zealand at 74-7 when Mustafizur had him caught and bowled, throwing himself to his left to take a one-handed stunner. The ball, pitched on off stump, appeared to slow down further as it landed on the pitch, with McConchie checking his shot at the last moment. The ball floated off his bat, and was snaffled by a diving Mustafizur, who flung to one side to complete a tumbling catch.
