Jayden Seales

Jayden Seales took all six Leewards Islands wickets to fall in a West Indies Championship game at North Sound.

Six out of six for Jayden Seales

Trinidad & Tobago spearhead Seales wrecked the Leeward Islands top order in the third innings of the West Indies Championship game at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

By the 17th over of the innings, the hosts were left reeling at 43-5, still a run away from the innings-defeat mark. Seales had taken all five wickets including Test cricketers Keacy Carty and captain Justin Greaves as well as two other international players in Karima Gore and Jewel Andrew.

Having seen all five wickets fall at the other end, opener Mikyle Louis (73) stayed put, adding 82 with wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton before Seales returned to have him caught behind. At stumps, Leeward Islands were 136-6 with Hamilton (41) and Rahkeem Cornwall (seven) at the crease. They lead by 92 runs. Having taken 3-33 in the first innings, Seales has taken 6-33 in the second so far.

Guyana on top, Jamaica-Barbados in the balance

At St John’s, Guyana continued to pile runs after Nial Smith (5-36) had bowled out Windward Islands for 151. As Tagenarine Chanderpaul evoked memories of father Shivnarine with a 196-ball 35, Matthew Nandu (54), Kevlon Anderson (41), Kemol Savory (72), Keemo Paul (56), and Richie Looknauth (42) pushed the visitors to 361-8.

At Kingston, Jamaica rode on a second consecutive double-century opening stand between John Campbell (96) and Kirk McKenzie (114) to post 457. However, captain Kraigg Brathwaite (51 not out) and Shayne Moseley (53) pushed Barbados to 125-1 by stumps.
