Chinelle Henry of West Indies bowls during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match between Bangladesh and West Indies at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 10, 2024 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

West Indies Women have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming white-ball tour of England.

West Indies’ white-ball tour will be played between May 21 and June 8, consisting of three T20Is and as many ODIs.

The squad will be led by all-rounder Hayley Matthews with a mix of experienced and emerging campaigners. 20-year-old Guyanese all-rounder Realeanna Grimmond replaced Jamaica wicketkeeper Rashada Williams. However, the most notable miss is of veteran all-rounder Chinelle Henry, who has been replaced by fast bowler Jahzara Claxton.

Henry finished as the highest run-getter (186) in Jamaica’s runners-up campaign in Cricket West Indies’ 2025 T20 Blaze. However, the reason for her absence from the West Indies squad hasn’t been revealed. Henry was also one of the lone bright spots of UP Warriorz’s dismal WPL 2025 season. She scored 163 runs in seven matches at a strike-rate of 196.38, the second-highest in the season. She smashed the joint-fastest WPL fifty while batting at No.8 during a match against Delhi Capitals.

Grimmond was rewarded for her all-rounder performance in Guyana’s title-winning campaign in the 2025 T20 Blaze. She finished as the joint highest wicket-taker (10) and the fourth-highest run-getter (121). Claxton, meanwhile, represented the Leeward Islands, who finished third in the six-team tournament.

West Indies are touring after the heartbreak of failing to qualify for the Women’s ODI World Cup later this year for the first time in 20 years. In the Qualifier, they fell agonisingly short of the required net run rate swing to overtake Bangladesh despite a record chase against Thailand.
