Smriti Mandhana brought up her sixth ODI ton in 21 innings, scoring a 101-ball 116 during the Women’s Tri-Series final against Sri Lanka today (May 11).
Opening with Pratika Rawal, Mandhana notched up her 11th hundred in the format, taking 92 deliveries to the landmark at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. She brought up her hundred with a hat-trick of fours, hitting a total of 15 boundaries in her innings, along with two sixes.
It was Mandhana’s second ODI hundred this year, where she averages 64.12 in eight games. She has carried forward her 2024 form, scoring 1,260 runs at 60 with six hundreds and five fifties since the start of last year.
Her brilliant run last year saw her named the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of 2024 as well as the Wisden Leading Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
Mandhana now has 11 hundreds, the third-most in the format, behind only Meg Lanning and Suzie Bates. Tammy Beaumont is the only other player with more than 10 hundreds in women’s ODIs. Mithali Raj has the second-most tons in women’s ODIs from India, with seven.
India made 70 for the first wicket before Rawal departed for 30, but India’s middle order made vital contributions, with Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues all making forties. India crossed the 300-run mark, setting up a challenging total for the hosts.
