What is the World Championship of Legends 2025?
The World Championship of Legends 2025 is a T20 cricket tournament featuring retired international cricketers. The event is designed to bring together former stars of the game in a competitive format, offering fans a chance to watch their favourite legends in action once again. The tournament includes six teams, each consisting of ex-players who previously represented their national sides. The format comprises round-robin group matches followed by playoffs, including semi-finals and a final. A total of 18 matches will be played, beginning on July 18.
This is the second edition of the tournament, with India Champions winning the first edition.
Where will the matches be held?
The tournament will be held in England across four venues. Matches are scheduled at: Edgbaston, Headingley, Upton Steel at Leicester and the County Ground at Northampton.
The tournament will run from July 18 to August 2. The day games will begin at 12.30pm local time and the day-night matches will be played from 4.30pm local time.
The six teams participating are: India Champions, England Champions, Australia Champions, Pakistan Champions, West Indies Champions and South Africa Champions. Each squad includes former international players who have officially retired from international cricket.
Several big names like AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, Chris Gayle, Kevin Pietersen, Brett Lee, Shahid Afridi and Yuvraj Singh will participate in the tournament.
