Zimbabwe will host Ireland for a three-match T20I series for the second time in 2023. The curtain-raiser clash will commence on December 7, followed by the second match on December 9 and the last fixture of the series slated on December 10. All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club in the capital city of Harare.
Earlier in January, the home side prevailed over their opponents by a margin of 2-1, owing to an inspiring all-round effort from Ryan Burl.
While Ireland have locked their spot for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup with a solid performance in the European Qualifier, Zimbabwe faltered against Namibia and Uganda in the Africa Qualifier, thus, missing the ticket to the global event hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America.
Zimbabwe have retained Sikandar Raza as their captain but have made other wholesale changes in their squad after their regional qualifiers debacle in Windhoek. Ireland, meanwhile, have named a 15-member travelling group with the newly appointed Paul Stirling at the helm.
In T20Is, the two sides have clashed 11 times, with Ireland winning six games while Zimbabwe winning five.
