Biography
Shree Charani is a standout left-arm spinner who has rapidly become a mainstay in the Indian national team. Hailing from the Yerramala Palli village in Andhra Pradesh, she made history as the first woman from the Kadapa district to represent India at the international level.
She announced herself on the world stage during the 2025 tour of England, taking 4/12 on her T20I debut in Nottingham. She is only the second Indian woman to claim a four-wicket haul in her first T20 International.
Charani played a vital role in India's historic 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup victory. She finished as the tournament's fourth-highest wicket-taker, claiming 14 wickets in nine matches, including a crucial performance against Australia in the knockout stages.
Originally signed by the Delhi Capitals for ₹55 lakh in 2025, her value skyrocketed following her international success. At the WPL 2026 Mega Auction, she became one of the most expensive young players when Delhi Capitals reclaimed her for ₹1.3 crore after an intense bidding war with UP Warriorz.
