On their 1969 tour of England, the West Indies made a brief detour of Ireland to play a one-day, two-innings game at Holm Field, Sion Mills. Captain Garry Sobers missed the game, while manager Clyde Walcott became part of the XI, but in Clive Lloyd, Steve Camacho, Joey Carew, and Grayson Shillingford, they were a few formidable names.

Yet, the West Indians were bowled out for 25 in 25.3 overs of batting as Alec O’Riordan (4-18) and Douglas Goodwin (5-6) bowled unchanged. After Ireland declared on 125-8, the West Indies finished on 78-4. It was a draw, but as per a prior agreement, the Irish won on first-innings lead.
