The No.11 is usually the weakest batter in an XI, but they have been involved in some great batting moments. The highest Test score by a No.11 was by an Australian in an Ashes Test of 2013, while an Australian No.11 featured in one of the most iconic last-wicket stands, at Edgbaston in 2005.

England have had their No.11s too. Two of them featured in memorable match-saving last-saving stands at Cardiff 2009 and Sydney 2021/22, while a bespectacled last man played an even more iconic role in the famous Headingley Test of 2019.
