Quiz! Every player to take a wicket with their first ball in the IPL

"Well begun is half done" is an old cliche – while it isn't always true, it never hurts to start well. This quiz deals with a list of players who began in the best possible way in the IPL, taking a wicket with their very first delivery.

Bear in mind, this does not necessarily have to be during the player's first IPL match. Their first ball in the competition may have only come later, and this is the case for multiple players here. In fact, one of them only bowled his first ball in his final IPL match; it was also the final ball he bowled in the league.

Two Indians joined this list in 2025 and 2026; before that, the last Indian to accomplish this was a Test-capped player who did so in 2013. He and one more on this list have 121 Test caps for India between them.
