In this quiz, you have to name the players who have the highest individual scores on their men’s Test debut.
A teen debutant for South Africa is the latest entrant to the list, for his 160-ball 153 in the first innings of the series opener against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. At 19 years 93 days, he also became the youngest from his country to score a men’s Test hundred and the 10th youngest overall. His 153 is the 24th highest score by a Test batter on debut.

Overall, seven players have scored double-hundreds on men's Test debut. Notably, the last two Test double-centuries on debut came in 2021 after an 18-year drought. Of those, the first was scored by a West Indian all-rounder, whose unbeaten 210 in the fourth innings powered a record 395-run chase against Bangladesh on a spin-friendly Chattogram pitch. This remains the fifth-highest successful fourth-innings chase in Test history and the highest-ever fourth-innings chase in Asia.
