In this quiz, you have to name the fielders with the most outfield catches in an innings in Test cricket.
The most outfield catches taken in a single Test innings is five. An Australian was the first to achieve the feat, against South Africa in Durban in 1936/37. He was the grandfather of the Chappell brothers – Ian, Greg, Trevor – all of whom later went on to represent Australia. Known for his all-round sporting abilities, he played baseball, tennis, lacrosse and basketball, swam competitively, and even became a cricket commentator after retiring.

Since then, the list has grown to 16, with an Australian – playing in the 2025/26 Ashes – becoming the only cricketer to achieve the feat twice (2018 and 2023). The latest entrant to the group is a South African batter who accomplished it during the second Test of their 2025/26 tour of India. He was the Player of the Match in the 2023-25 World Test Championship final, powering South Africa to their first ICC title in 27 years. Another South African took five catches in 2012.
