Six-hitting was never the norm in Test cricket. In some circles, it was considered reckless, counterproductive. Yet, limited-overs cricket changed things significantly. And the T20 revolution, the smaller grounds, and superior bats began to take things to the next level in the 2000s – a decade that witnessed incredible six-hitting.

In all, 42 batters hit at least 25 sixes between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2009. The list is headed by an Australian wicketkeeper, followed by an England all-rounder and three opening batters, from Australia, India, and the West Indies, in that order.
