IND vs PAK: Live score, news and updates
Washed out! That’s it. The game has been abandoned.
The teams will share points. Pakistan now have three, with a net run-rate of +4.760. India are one, Nepal are zero.
Even if the rain stopped this moment, it would have taken 45 minutes to get the ground ready. The players are shaking hands.
Looks like we could lose out on what could have been an enthralling second innings. It can get so frustrating for the players, just sitting and hoping for the showers to subside. Rain, still cricket’s biggest enemy.
10.27pm local time is the cutoff for a 20-over game, the shortest match possible. That’s just under an hour from now. It will require the rain to halt soon, and massive work from the groundstaff, to get a game here.
Just as we say this, the rain is back.

After a significant rain delay that followed the innings break, the players are heading out of the dugouts while the umpires assess the field.
The official announcement is yet to be made, but the game is expected to be shortened to 25-30 overs.
If overs are reduced, Pakistan's target will be:
254 if 45 overs
239 if 40 overs
203 if 30 overs
155 if 20 overs— Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad) September 2, 2023
All out! India fold for 266. Will this be enough?
Miscalculation on Babar’s part?
I think Pakistan have miscalculated here. Shadab is still on. That means one fast bowler won’t be bowling his 10 overs. #IndvPak

Jadeja and Thakur fall without much contribution, leaving the rest of the tail with a mountain to climb. They still have five overs to go though.
So much for India’s batting depth…
Pandya falls too! A slower ball, and Shaheen Afridi does the trick. A 119kph, and Pandya just tapped it to short cover. A fine knock though, but a much-needed breakthrough for Pakistan. This could change things.
Kishan goes! What a knock! An 81-ball 82 forged a tremendous counter-attack, hauling India out of a hole and past 200. With Jadeja and Thakur still to go, India could be looking at a competitive total.
Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan have stemmed the flow of wickets since, putting on a useful stand. The rain has been peeking, with a couple of breaks since, but the initial swing has disappeared.
Shreyas Iyer looked in good touch, but couldn’t send a short ball past the fielder. Haris Rauf had his second wicket when Shubman Gill‘s off stump was knocked out.
Virat Kohli departs! Well, well! What a post-rain session this is turning out to be for Pakistan. The ball is seaming around, and the Indian batters are crumbling. Shaheen gets the big man!
Shaheen draws first blood! After a brief rain break, he sent one through Rohit Sharma’s defences, giving Pakistan their first wicket. He nearly had him off the second ball of the game.
