Pakistan got their 2025 Asia Cup underway with a big win in Dubai today (September 12), skittling Oman out for 67 in the chase.

Despite losing opener Saim Ayub to the second ball of the match, Pakistan found their way to a decent total in their tournament opener. Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Haris put on 89 runs for the second wicket, with Haris reaching 66 off 43 balls before he was bowled by Aamir Khan. Farhan had already been dismissed for a run-a-ball 29, and once both of the set pair had gone Pakistan's middle order struggled to find an explosive end to the innings.

Captain Salman Agha was out for a golden duck, while Hassan Nawaz chewed up time with a 15-ball 9. Fakhar Zaman (23* off 16) and Mohammad Nawaz (19 off 10), got Pakistan to 160-7 at the end of their innings. From there, it was easy pickings for the bowlers.

Oman captain Jatinder Singh was bowled by Ayub's first ball into the attack, and Ayub also dismissed other opener Aamir Kaleem in his second over. Seven Oman batters were dismissed for scores of three or less, while only Hammad Mirza made it past 20. After clinging on into the 17th over, Oman were all out for 67, giving Pakistan a 93-run win.
