Asia Cup points table

UAE and Sri Lanka registered victories over Oman and Hong Kong respectively in the two Asia Cup matches on Monday (September 15): here's the updated Asia Cup 2025 points table after the UAE vs OMA and SL vs HK matches.

UAE beat Oman by 42 runs

Oman fielded first after winning the toss but UAE's opening partnership of 88 put them on the backfoot. UAE captain Muhammad Waseem scored his 24th T20I half-century while his opening partner Alishan Sharafu crossed 50 as well. With the help of a couple of middle order cameos, UAE were able to put up 172-5 in 20 overs.

Oman collapsed to 50-5 in the run-chase as right-arm seamer Junaid Siddique took two wickets early on. Oman's lower order mounted a fightback but could only get them up to 130. Siddique finished with figures of 4-23.

Sri Lanka complete tricky chase vs Hong Kong

Hong Kong were put in to bat first by Sri Lanka and they responded with a respectable opening stand of 41 in 4.5 overs. Opener Anshy Rath anchored the innings with a 46-ball 48 while No.4 Nizakat Khan scored an unbeaten 52 off 38 balls. Hong Kong lost only four wickets through their 20 overs but could only manage to score 149, setting a target of 150.

Sri Lanka started off slow. Kusal Mendis was dismissed on the last ball of the fourth over at the team score of 26. Kamil Mishara then struggled his way to 19 off 18 balls at No.3 and was the second wicket to fall at the score of 62 in the 10th over. Pathum Nissanka, batting on 32 off 25 balls at that point, accelerated to take Sri Lanka closer. Off his next 19 balls, Nissanka smashed 36 runs before a mini collapse saw them slip from 119-2 to 127-6.

However, calm heads from Wanindu Hasaranga and Dasun Shanaka, helped by a no-ball from spinner Yasim Murtaza, ensured Sri Lanka went over the line with four wickets in hand.
