An Australian fan vented his frustration at Steve Smith as the batter took issue with a cameraperson in front of the sightscreen.
Australia had a forgettable day in Darwin as Bangladesh, playing a Test Down Under after 23 years, bowled them out for 198 before piling on 96-1 at stumps. Smith fought a lone battle for the hosts, scoring 71 when no one else crossed the 25-run mark.
During his knock, the former Australia captain wasn’t pleased with a cameraperson sitting at the bottom of the sight screen. As Smith repeatedly asked them to move away, his antics seemed to have frustrated a fan, who screamed from the stands: “Just hit the damn thing Smudge. Stop being a princess.”
As Smith continued to be annoyed by the presence of the cameraperson, the fan again exclaimed: “You’re not bigger than the game Stevie. Deal with it.”

Smith walked in at 52-2 after Hasan Mahmud sent both openers back, and was dropped just eight balls into his innings. He made the drop count even as wickets tumbled around him to score a 45th Test fifty, but became Mahmud’s fifth victim. Mahmud returned career-best figures of 6-55, his third five-wicket haul, all of which have come away from home.

Mahmud received able support from his fellow quicks, with Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain taking two wickets each as well. Bangladesh batters then capped off one of their greatest days of Test cricket by finishing at 96-1, with Mominul Haque (35) and Tanzid Hasan Tamim (32) at the crease.
