There are doubts about Rohit Sharma's availability for a part of the Test series due to personal reasons, which would mean a change in captaincy as well as the opening combination.

India recently slumped to a 0-3 clean sweep against New Zealand on home soil. The historic defeat hurt India's chances of qualification for the WTC final significantly.

 

"We were completely outplayed," admitted Gambhir. "I'm not going to defend us. We deserve the criticism we are getting now.

 

"The criticism we are facing, we are taking it with both hands. We need to move forward. Australia is new series."
