The upcoming Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20I series has been shortened. Here is the revised schedule for the series, including fixtures, venues and match timings.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed a revised schedule for Bangladesh’s upcoming T20I tour, with the series shortened from five matches to three and relocated entirely to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The series will now run from May 28 to June 1, with all matches scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM local time. Bangladesh will arrive in Lahore on May 25, with training sessions set for the following two days.

The PCB stated that the adjustment was made in consultation with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), following discussions in Dubai between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, BCB Chairman Nazmul Abedin, and BCB President Faruque Ahmed. Security concerns and logistical challenges–amid rising regional tensions and the mid-season postponement of the Pakistan Super League–ultimately led to the condensed itinerary.

Originally planned as a five-match series across multiple venues, including Faisalabad, the entire tour has now been centralised in Lahore. Naqvi expressed gratitude to his Bangladeshi counterparts, acknowledging their commitment to Pakistan’s international calendar despite external disruptions.

“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the BCB during this process,” Naqvi said. “The revised schedule ensures that fans in Pakistan will still witness top-quality international cricket under lights at Gaddafi Stadium.”

The revised match schedule is as follows:

  • May 28 – 1st T20I, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore – 8:00pm local time
  • May 30 – 2nd T20I, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore – 8:00pm local time
  • June 1 – 3rd T20I, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore – 8:00pm local time

PAK v BAN T20Is: Team news

This will be Pakistan’s first assignment under new head coach Mike Hesson, and the squad announcement reflects a bold shift in direction. Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi have all been omitted, with selectors opting to explore depth ahead of a busy international calendar.

The squad sees the return of Saim Ayub, who missed the latter part of the South Africa tour earlier this year after fracturing his ankle. Also returning is Sahibzada Farhan, currently the leading run-scorer in the PSL with 394 runs at a strike rate of 154.50. The 29-year-old last featured in T20Is back in 2018 and has earned a recall following his blistering domestic form.

For Bangladesh, Litton Das will lead the side, having officially taken over the T20I captaincy from Najmul Hossain Shanto earlier this year. Mahedi Hasan has been named vice-captain for both this tour and the preceding one in the UAE.

While the reduced series represents a logistical compromise, it also presents a timely opportunity for both sides to test emerging talent. For Hesson’s Pakistan, the absence of several senior players places a spotlight on the next generation, while Bangladesh will look to build momentum under their new leadership pairing.

The three-match contest promises competitive cricket, albeit under a revised and accelerated format, with both nations eager to make the most of the series despite the circumstances.
