Saim Ayub showcased his all-round skills while playing for Jamaica Kingsmen against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League 2026.
Saim Ayub stars with all-round show for Kingsmen in the CPL
Ayub walked out at number three after Jamaica were put in to bat first, and made sure he propelled them to a formidable total. The all-rounder helped his side recover from 12-2 and stitched a 72-run stand for the fifth wicket with Rovman Powell.
In the process, he notched up his maiden T20 century in his only second appearance of this CPL season. He reached the ton with a six off Obed McCoy before getting out on the very next delivery. Ayub smashed 102 runs off 58 balls with six fours and eight sixes, helping Kingsmen post 182.
Ayub was Jamaica’s most economical bowler too, conceding only 20 runs in his four overs while dismissing Andre Fletcher for 55, the top-scorer for the Patriots. Thanks to his incredible ton and spin bowling, Jamaica restricted the opposition to 171 and registered their third win in seven outings this season.
Apart from Saim, Keemo Paul also starred for Jamaica, smashing an unbeaten 25 off 13 deliveries and later picking up one wicket for 31 runs in his four overs. Hunain Shah was the pick of the bowlers for them, accounting for two scalps for 23 runs as the Kingsmen won a crucial game at the Warner Park in St Kitts.
As for the Patriots, Wanindu Hasaranga was their best bowler with two wickets for only 18 runs in his four-over spell. Jason Holder and Dasun Shanaka scored 34 and 35* respectively down the order, but their efforts weren’t enough to take the side over the line in the 183-run chase.
Meanwhile, with this win, the Jamaica Kingsmen have jumped to fourth place in the CPL 2026 standings with six points. The Patriots remain rooted to the bottom after succumbing to their fourth loss in five matches.
