Matthew Fisher took a career-best 6 for 25 as Surrey put themselves in position to claim a potentially vital victory in their battle to avoid relegation from County Championship Division One.
Matt Fisher's 6-25 keeps Surrey in the game after 83 all out
Batting first, Yorkshire were bowled out for 185, with Tom Lawes picking up 4-36. Daniel Worrall contributed 3-40 as Surrey looked for a crucial win.
However, they stumbled in their batting innings, getting bowled out for 83 in just 30 overs. Ollie Pope was the only batter to cross 15 in the innings, as Ben Coad and Jack White took three wickets apiece.
But Surrey answered back brilliantly, as Yorkshire suffered an even greater collapse in their second innings. They lost their first four wickets for 36 runs, before getting all out for 82, with Fisher taking six wickets in nine overs. He finished with 6-25, his best figures in first-class cricket, as Surrey were left with a target of 185 runs to chase.

Surrey's openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley took the side to 27-0 at stumps on day two, still needing 158 for a win.
Fisher has played two Tests for England, making his debut in 2022, but returned to the side after over four years, being selected for the Oval Test against New Zealand. He scored 50* in the first innings and picked up five wickets in the game, but has not been picked in the squad for the Pakistan series.
Currently at eighth in the Division One table, Surrey are four points above Leicestershire in ninth, having won just once in the Championship this season before this fixture. The three-time champions are on a six-match run without a victory. Yorkshire, meanwhile, are seventh, with 12 more points than Surrey.
