Sai Kishore played for Surrey in the last County Championship season and will be returning for his second stint, this time for Gloucestershire.
Sai Kishore set for second County Championship stint
Sai will play six matches for Gloucestershire in the ongoing Championship season as per the deal. The county confirmed in a statement that the left-arm spinner will be available from their clash against Worcestershire that gets underway on August 20 in Cheltenham, followed by home matches against Derbyshire and Middlesex. He will also be available for selection for their away fixtures against Durham, Lancashire and Kent.
This will be the second County Championship stint for the left-arm spinner after playing for Surrey in division one last year. He put up an impressive show, taking 11 wickets in two matches at an average of 24.54.
The Tamil Nadu spinner also boasts of a formidable first-class record, having picked up 223 wickets in 54 matches at an average of 24.21, with 14 five-wicket hauls to his credit. His only appearances in India colours have come in three T20Is, at the Asian Games in October 2023, but he hasn't been picked in the senior men's squad since.
At the County Championship, he will be eager for some game time, having spent most of the Indian Premier League season (IPL 2026) on the bench. He played only three matches for the Gujarat Titans this season and picked up one wicket.

“I've always wanted to test my skills in English conditions, and after speaking with the management, I knew this was the right fit. I'm looking forward to wearing the jersey, meeting the fans at Bristol and Cheltenham, and doing my part.”
Gloucestershire are struggling this season with only one win in eight matches so far and are languishing at the bottom of the division two points table.
