The 2025 Duleep Trophy begins on August 28 - follow all the scores and latest updates on round one here.
Named after KS Duleepsinhji, the Duleep Trophy in India traditionally acts as the curtain-raiser for the upcoming domestic season. This year's competition will run from August 28 to September 15, before the Irani Trophy takes place from October 1-4, and the Ranji Trophy kicks off on October 15.
The Duleep Trophy is usually conducted in a zonal format. There were exceptions in 2002-03, when teams were made based on the previous season's Ranji Trophy groups, from 2016-17 to 2019-20 when the BCCI selected three teams in the form of India Blue, Red and Green and in 2024-25 when the four teams involved were India A, B, C and D.
For the 2025-26 campaign, the Duleep Trophy has returned to the zonal format with teams from the North, South, East, West, Central and North East Zones. Several Test cricketers have been selected, including captain Shubman Gill.
