Ishan Kishan continued his dominance with a marathon 334-ball 270 to power East Zone to 708 on day two of the Duleep Trophy final.
Kishan's double hundred and Kumar Kushagra's 101 propelled East Zone to 708 in their first innings, the third-highest team total in a Duleep Trophy final and the first time that East Zone scored over 600 runs in the competition's history. Kishan also became the first East Zone captain and wicketkeeper to score a double hundred in the tournament.

On the back of an innings that comprised 30 fours and seven sixes, Kishan became only the seventh batter to register a double century in a Duleep Trophy final.

Ishan Kishan puts East Zone in command with marathon innings
East Zone resumed the day at 385-4, with Ishan Kishan and Kumar Kushagra unbeaten at 111 and 63, respectively. Having added 144 runs together already, the duo brought up their 200-run stand off 248 balls Kishan completed his 150 off 204 deliveries. Kushagra completed his century off 128 balls before going down to Tripurana Vijay four deliveries later.
From the other end, skipper Kishan stood his ground and continued scoring freely. At the stroke of lunch, East Zone were comfortably placed at 491-5 in 108 overs. The wicketkeeper-batter eventually brought up his second first-class double hundred off 270 balls with a handsome drive off Devdutt Padikkal through the covers.
Kishan also added 140 runs with Anukul Roy for the sixth wicket, but retired hurt upon completing his 250, with the team on 611-5. Anukul followed him to the dressing room soon after but Md Kounain Qureshi andMohammed Shami added 54 runs for the seventh wicket to take the team closer to the 700 run-mark.
Kishan returned to bat after Shami’s dismissal and scored 20 more runs, making his East Zone side only the third team to score over 700 runs in a Duleep Trophy final in the process. He was dismissed for 270, three fewer than his career-best FC score of 273. Kishan was caught by Ravichandran Smaran at long-on off Vijay, who finished with a four-wicket haul. Mohammed Siraj bowled 25 wicketless overs for 140 runs.
