Watch: India legend Sunil Gavaskar was seen signalling Rishabh Pant to do his trademark somersault celebration after he reached his second hundred of the England-India Headingley Test.
Pant came out to bat early on day four after new India captain Shubman Gill chopped a ball from Brydon Carse onto his stumps. Having started streakily, Pant soon settled into a rhythm. Along with KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper took India to a comfortable position. His fifty came off 83 balls, after which he accelerated, scoring his next fifty runs in just 47 deliveries, despite spending 26 of those in the 90s.
This was Pant's second hundred of the match, having also scored one in the first innings. With this century, Pant became only the second wicketkeeper in history to make two tons in a Test match.

Following the hundred, Sunil Gavaskar was seen requesting Pant to do one of his trademark somersault celebrations from the commentary balcony at Headingley. While Pant had pulled off this celebration in the first innings, he didn't do so in the second.
Soon after his hundred, Pant was dismissed attempting a slog sweep off Shoaib Bashir for 118 off 140 balls, with India's score being 287/4.
