A large puddle on the ground after rain stopped play during the first Test between England and South Africa at Lord's Cricket Ground on August 17, 2022 in London, England

The second women’s ODI of the three-match series between England and India will be played at Lord’s on Saturday (July 19). However, rain could spoil the match.

India entered the ODI leg of their tour with a 3-2 victory in a five-match series – their first-ever bilateral T20I series win against this opposition. They carried that momentum into the ODI opener, securing a four-wicket win. Batting first, England posted 258-6, thanks to contributions from Sophia Dunkley (83) and Alice Davidson-Richards (53).

In response, India found themselves reeling at 124-4. Deepti Sharma built a crucial 100-run partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues, who departed for 48. From there, Deepti stayed till the end, guiding India to victory with four wickets and 1.4 overs to spare. Her unbeaten 62 off 64 balls included three fours and a six. Amanjot Kaur from No.8 also chipped in with 20 not out off 14, striking three fours.

India, 1-0 ahead, could clinch the series, though rain may have other plans.
