Lauren Filer bowls fastest over in women's cricket history
In the third T20I between the sides at The Oval, the hosts piled up 171-9 after electing to bat first; a competitive score nonetheless, having been 137-0 at one point.
England quick Lauren Filer had sent down three overs for 1-24, before coming on for the 16th of the innings. The first ball was a yorker, dug out by India captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The second saw Kaur attempt a pull shot, only for the ball to balloon up, and Alice Capsey to drop a dolly.

With the third, Filer induced a top edge from Smriti Mandhana, and Sophie Ecclestone completed the catch. The fourth saw her hit new batter Richa Ghosh on the helmet, before a single and a boundary ended the over.
The speeds displayed on the broadcast showed that sent down five out of six deliveries at over 75 mph, with the other at 73 mph. According to data company CricViz, this is the fastest over ever recorded in women's cricket.
All of her deliveries on the night were past the 'high pace' threshold of 70 mph, with five of them measuring as the top five quickest of Filer's T20I career. Before Filer's over, South Africa's Shabnim Ismail held all of the top three spots for fastest overs.
England hit back in T20I series after consecutive losses
Prior to Filer's over, India were 130-2, and needed another 42 to win off five overs. Her dismissal of Mandhana, along with conceding just six runs, saw the required run rate rise to nine an over, before Issy Wong backed up Filer's good work with another six-run over in the 17th.
With the equation coming down to 12 runs off the final over, Lauren Bell held her nerve to concede six off the first five balls, before Kaur holed out off the last one for England to secure a five-run win, and stay alive at 1-2 in the five-match series.
The fourth T20I will be in Manchester, on July 9.
