The second Test between England and Pakistan has been interrupted by rain multiple times so far. Here’s the latest weather prediction for the rest of the third day in London.
England finished day two at 81-3 in 22 overs, with an overall lead of 261 runs up their sleeves. They had bowled out Pakistan for 110 after posting 290 runs in the first innings across two rain-affected days, with bad light also forcing early stumps. Only 56 overs of play was possible on the opening day, while the two teams were on the field for only 69 overs on the second.
Even the start of the third day’s play was delayed multiple times due to rain, with the first session getting washed out. And the forecast doesn't look great for the remainder of the day as well, with England at 139-5 in 38 overs at the time of writing.
What is the weather forecast for day three of the second England vs Pakistan Test?
As per AccuWeather, there is a 66% chance of rain at around 4pm local time, which reduces to 40% after 5pm, with the sun also expected to pop out.
BBC weather predicts minimal play possible for the rest of the day at Lord’s, with 70 to 80 per cent chance of rain from 4pm to 7pm local time.
The weather forecast from the Met Office is even worse, suggesting 90 to 95 per cent chance of rain during the same period.
So far, only 16 overs of play have been possible on day three at Lord’s, with a minimum of around 45 overs left in the day. However, given the forecast, it looks unlikely that the remainder of the quota will be bowled in full. On the bright side, Sunday 's forecast looks much better, with only light rain showers expected.
