England walloped Pakistan in the Lord’s Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Here’s how the World Test Championship (WTC) points table looks like after the result.
Pakistan were once again blown away by England’s pace attack, losing by a massive 194 runs following an innings and 103-run defeat at Headingley in the first Test. Ollie Robinson starred for the hosts, taking eight wickets to be named the player of the match for the second time this series, and in his third consecutive Test match.
England bowled out Pakistan for 110 in the first innings after putting up 290 on the board themselves. The hosts then set Pakistan a massive 389-run to win following a stop-start second innings, with most of day four lost to rain. Saud Shakeel put up a strong front in the chase, scoring of 97 off 122, but there was little help from others as Pakistan failed to cross 200 for the fourth time in four innings this series, getting bowled out for 194.
Mohammad Abbas got his name on the Lord's honours board, taking his first five-wicket haul at the venue. Jofra Archer's dismissal of Babar Azam was one of the highlights of the match, with the quick bowling north of 90mph consistently.
