England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge was clean bowled for a first-ball duck for the second time in a row when she was dismissed in the third T20I today (May 26), falling to West Indies’ Zaida James on both occasions.

Wyatt-Hodge ended the T20I series against the Windies with just 17 runs, all of which were made in the first game at Canterbury. Since then, she has registered two ducks, getting dismissed on the first ball of the innings both times.

In the second T20I, England were set a target of 82, which would also ensure a series win. While the hosts registered their third-shortest run-chase, Wyatt-Hodge had a day to forget as she was sent back by slow left-armer Zaida upfront. The opener, who had scored a golden duck on T20I debut back in 2010, fell to a brilliant ball from Zaida, who bowled a slower delivery from around the wicket that shattered her stumps.

Fast forward to Monday (May 26), and the exact scenario repeated itself. England, batting first this time, found themselves at 0-1 after 0.1 overs again, after Wyatt-Hodge fell to a round-the-wicket ball once more. Zaida pitched the good-length delivery on the off-stump, only for it to find the huge gap between bat and pad, as the stumps were uprooted again.

England lost Sophia Dunkley soon after, as they fell to 21-2 after 4.3 overs. Nat Sciver-Brunt (37 off 40) and Heather Knight (66 off 47) led the recovery, as England finished on 144-5.

Wyatt-Hodge has scored only 86 runs in six T20Is this year, averaging 14.33 at a strike rate of 117.80. Overall, she has three golden ducks in 2025, having also been dismissed for no score in the Sydney T20I against Australia in January.
