England have announced their provisional squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, with a similar lineup also set to feature in the Sri Lanka white-ball series.

England T20 World Cup squad: Josh Tongue picked

England Test seamer Josh Tongue has earned a maiden T20I call-up for both the Sri Lanka series and the succeeding T20 World Cup. Jofra Archer has also been included in the provisional squad for the T20 World Cup, but he won't feature in the Sri Lanka T20Is as he recovers from an injury he suffered during the ongoing Ashes.

Jamie Smith, meanwhile, has not been picked for either the ODI or the T20I squads. His last T20I came against the West Indies in June, while his last ODI outing came against New Zealand before the Ashes.

England have also chosen to ignore Liam Livingstone for the provisional T20 World Cup squad. Livingstone recently fetched a huge bid of INR 13 crore from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 auction. Jordan Cox has also not found a place.

In the ODIs, Test opener Zak Crawley finds himself back in contention having last played the format in December 2023.

England's T20 World Cup campaign will start on February 8 in Mumbai, before which they will play three ODIs from January 22-27 and three T20Is from January 30-February 3 in Sri Lanka.
