Zimbabwe shocked Australia on day seven of the T20 World Cup 2026, while the UAE and USA registered easy wins. Here's how the points tables look after Friday's action.
T20 World Cup 2026: Day seven recap
Zimbabwe vs Australia
Zimbabwe maintained their spotless record against Australia in T20 World Cups, defeating them by 23 runs in the Group B encounter at Colombo. They batted first, and with composure, finishing at 169-2, with Brian Bennett top-scoring with a 56-ball 65.
Australia’s chase never got going, and except during a 77-run stand between Matt Renshaw and Glenn Maxwell, they never looked like the favourites. Renshaw top-scored with 65, but Blessing Muzarabani (4-17) and Brad Evans (3-23) closed the game for Zimbabwe.
UAE vs Canada
Canada batted first in this Group D encounter in Delhi, but only managed 150-7 in 20 overs, failing to kick on with wickets falling at regular intervals. Harsh Thaker and Navneet Dhaliwal’s 58-run stand took 47 deliveries, and Junaid Siddique’s five-wicket haul didn’t let them post a big total.
In reply, UAE were struggling at 66-4 in the 13th over, but Aryansh Sharma (74* off 53) and Sohaib Khan (51 off 29) added 84 runs for the fifth wicket to take the team through in the last over of the game.

Netherlands vs USA
Netherlands put USA into bat first in the Group A match in Chennai. Saiteja Mukkamalla was the star of the show with a 51-ball 79, while Shubham Ranjane played a quickfire knock of 48 off 24 to take USA to 196-6 in 20 overs. Captain Monank Patel played a handy knock of 22-ball 36 as well.
The Dutch were completely blown away by the USA in the chase, losing half their wickets by the end of eight overs with just 66 runs on the board. Netherlands had no answer to Harmeet Singh’s left-arm spin, who returned figures of 4-21 from his four overs. Shadley van Schalkwyk built on his superb form, taking three wickets to get to 11 in three games. USA eventually won by 93 runs, the biggest win for an associate side in T20 World Cup history.
