The schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup has been announced, with the tournament set to begin on February 7.
Which teams will play T20 World Cup 2026?
The 10th edition of the men's T20 World Cup will be played from February 7 to March 8 next year. The tournament will return to India for the first time since 2016, when West Indies won the title for the second time. This time, India will jointly host the event with Sri Lanka. Five Indian venues – Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Mumbai – and three Sri Lankan venues – Kandy and two in Colombo – will stage the competition.
The high-voltage India–Pakistan group-stage clash is scheduled for February 15 at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium.

Twenty teams, divided into four groups, will compete in the tournament. Italy are set to make their tournament debut after qualifying through the Europe qualifiers alongside the Netherlands. The USA, who made their debut in the previous edition as hosts, qualified for the 2026 tournament by virtue of reaching the Super Eights.

Group A: India, Pakistan, Namibia, Netherlands, USA
Group B: Sri Lanka, Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Oman
Group C: England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, Italy
Group D: South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Canada, UAE
Rohit Sharma, who captained India to the title and had also featured in the team’s inaugural T20 World Cup triumph in 2007, has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the tournament. Rohit, along with Virat Kohli, retired from the format after India clinched the title in June last year.
