Pakistan, who have carried forward a net run rate of +0.629 into the Super Sixes of the Under-19 World Cup, will play India and New Zealand in the Super Six stage of the competition. According to the format of the competition, all sides in the Super Sixes will play two games each, with Pakistan taking on New Zealand and India.

Pakistan are currently third in the table in their Super Sixes group, behind England (NRR +1.989) and India (+2.751). To qualify for the semi-finals, they had to beat both New Zealand (-6.143) and India comprehensively.

The 18-year-old pacer was the first-change bowler for Pakistan at Harare, coming on to bowl with New Zealand at 59-2 after eight overs. He got into the game right away, dismissing Tom Jones with his third ball. He did not concede a run in his first over and sent down another maiden next up, to stall the run flow.

Subhan then sent back Jacob Cotter and Jaskaran Sandhu within the span of three balls in his third over, which was also a maiden. His figures after the first three overs were an incredible 3-3-0-3, as New Zealand fell to 67-6 by 13 overs.

Callum Samson scored the first runs off Subhan in the game when he hit a boundary on the first ball of the 15th over. Subhan eventually ended with 4-11: at 1.69, it was the fifth-most economical four-wicket haul for Pakistan in Under-19 cricket. Overall, it is the tenth-most economical spell in an Under-19 World Cup clash featuring two Full-Member teams. Of his 39 deliveries, as many as 32 were dots –82 per cent.

New Zealand were dismissed for 110 in 28.3 overs in the end. Pakistan took only 17.1 balls to win by eight wickets. They are tied with India on points (though the latter have a game in hand), and their net run rate has soared to +1.484.
