India and Pakistan will face off in the Women's World Cup on Sunday (October 5) in Colombo. Here's the weather forecast for the match.

Both sides made contrasting starts to their World Cup campaign. India kicked off the tournament last Tuesday with a 59-run win over Sri Lanka in Guwahati, recovering from 124-6 to post 269-8.

Pakistan also took on an Asian team in Bangladesh, but came away on the losing side. Their batters never recovered from Marufa Akter's early double-strike, as they collapsed for 129. Bangladesh chased down the target in 31.1 overs.

Pakistan's match was in Colombo, meaning they could have a slight edge in terms of familiarity with conditions. This, of course, is provided the game takes place. Yesterday's match at this venue, between Sri Lanka and Australia, was washed out without so much as a toss. Here's what the weather forecast says for today.

IND vs PAK, women's World Cup: What is the weather forecast?

According to BBC Weather, rain is likely throughout the day in Colombo. It never gets to an extremely high probability, with the maximum being 45 per cent 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of 3pm. But the chances remain around 35 per cent throughout the morning, and around 15-25 per cent through the rest of the match hours.

AccuWeather predicts a similar pattern of rainfall, with slight variation in the chances themselves. It predicts 70 per cent chance of rain around 11am, and remains around 20 per cent throughout the afternoon. However, the weather could well clear by around 6pm, when it comes down to 16 per cent.

Weather.com's forecast is also along similar lines. Thunderstorms are predicted around 11:30am, with cloudy weather predicted for the afternoon, and chances of rain around 15 per cent. However, the chances rise again to 44 per cent by 7:30pm, suggesting it could be quite a stop-start affair.
