Updated rankings after India vs New Zealand 2025

India Women secured their place in the semi-finals with a 53-run win over New Zealand Women via the DLS method in the 2025 Women's World Cup. Here's what the points table looks like after India's win.

In a game that was interrupted by rain, leading to a loss of overs. India's innings was reduced to 49 overs – they played one over after a hefty rain break – and New Zealand were left to chase 325 in 44 overs. They couldn't keep up with the required run-rate, ending with 271-8. It knocked them out of the tournament, and sealed India's place in the knockouts.

With the game, India moved to six points. New Zealand are left at four points. Having hit by rain through the campaign, they won one game and had three games washed out, getting a point each from them.

India confirm semi-final spot, New Zealand out

Put in to bat, India put up a mammoth opening stand, with Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana putting on 212 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues, put in at No.3, then cracked 76 off 55, helping India close in on 350. With one over shaved off, they ended up with 340-3.

New Zealand started off slow, and could never really catch up with the mounting run-rate, but still had brief pockets of resistance. Those were led by Brooke Halliday (81) and Isabella Gaze (65*) in particular, with Amelia Kerr also falling just short of a fifty.

      India will now play their semi-final in Navi Mumbai, with the final also set to be played at the same venue. Even if they lose their last game, and New Zealand win against England to be tied on points, India go through on account of more wins, the primary tie-breaker this time at the World Cup.
