Women’s World Cup 2025: What do India need to qualify?
TL;DR version: India’s most significant remaining game is against New Zealand.
If India win all three games, they qualify with 10 points.
If India win two games including New Zealand, they qualify with eight points, as New Zealand will be able to reach at most six.
If India win two games but lose to New Zealand, there is a possibility of India and New Zealand both finishing on eight points. In that case, it will come down to net run rate.
If India beat New Zealand but lose the other two, they will reach six. Since New Zealand can also reach six, it will come down to net run rate. It is worth a mention that Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka can also reach six points.
If India win one game but not including New Zealand, they will reach six, but so will New Zealand even without playing their last game. They will have to expect England to beat New Zealand by a margin big enough for India to qualify on net run rate.
If India lose all three games, they remain on four points and get eliminated.
