Sam Curran continued his rich vein of form for the Desert Vipers in the ongoing International League T20 2025/26 season with an all-round performance.

Curran turned a rather sedate start to the ILT20 season into an impressive one by scoring consecutive half-centuries for the Vipers. He has also picked up five wickets now in the tournament, while conceding runs at just more than eight an over.

His first substantial knock came against the Gulf Giants, where he scored 44 off 36 as his side went on to win in the Super Over. Curran then dismissed Nicholas Pooran in a crucial encounter against the MI Emirates before putting in a brilliant all-round performance in the reverse fixture against the Giants.

      He first bowled an economical spell of 1-27 in four overs, before two early wickets brought him to the middle in the fifth over of a 158-run chase. Playing a composed knock of 67 off 43, laced with five fours and three maximums, Curran took his team home with 19 balls and eight wickets to spare.

      He built onto that with a Player of the Match outing against defending champions Dubai Capitals yesterday (December 14), bowling a tight spell of 3-0-17-2 to restrict them to 167. Then batting at No. 4 in the run chase, he scored an unbeaten 33-ball 52 as Vipers overhauled the Capitals’ total in the last over to maintain their unbeaten run in the season.

      Curran now has 208 runs in six innings of the ongoing ILT20 season at a strike-rate of 132.48, placing him second on the run-scoring chart. With five wickets, he is 11th in the overall wicket-takers’ list, and fourth among the Vipers’ bowlers.

      The fast-bowling all-rounder played a crucial role in the Desert Vipers’ run to the final of the last ILT20 season. He had scored 387 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 134.37, while also picking up seven wickets.
