On Saturday (October 25), India lost their 18th consecutive toss in ODIs, extending their world record.

IND vs AUS, third ODI: India make two changes

The tourists made two changes: Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna came in for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh. Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI. For Australia, Nathan Ellis replaced Xavier Bartlett.

"We would have bowled first to be honest. Have a target and then try and chase it," India captain Shubman Gill said. "I think we got what we wanted. We had enough runs in the last game and just missed a couple of chances. We've made two changes. Kuldeep and Prasidh come in for Reddy and Arshdeep."

During a Champions Trophy match against Pakistan in February, India broke the world record for the most consecutive toss losses, surpassing the Netherlands' run of 11 toss defeats between 2011 and 2013. Since then, they have lost six more tosses, stretching their tally to 18 consecutive defeats.

The chances of losing 18 tosses in a row are extremely low: 1 in 262,144. The stretch has spanned over three captains, Rohit Sharma (12), KL Rahul (3) and Shubman Gill (3).
