Hardik Pandya joined an exclusive club of T20I all-rounders to have scored 1000 runs and taken 100 wickets in the format during the Dharamshala T20I against South Africa.

Hardik Pandya joins elite club

Pandya entered the game in Dharamshala on 99 wickets and 1939 runs in T20Is, needing just one scalp to become the fifth men’s cricketer to complete the 100 wickets and 1000 T20I runs double.

He did so in his first over of the match, where he accounted for Tristan Stubbs’s wicket. In the process, he also became the third Indian men’s bowler to have picked up 100 T20I wickets after Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah.

Pandya returned to the international fold against South Africa after an injury hiatus following the Asia Cup earlier this year. He marked his return with a 28-ball 59 and figures of 1-16 in the first T20I of the ongoing series, followed by a 20 in the second game.
