Quinton de Kock hit his seventh ODI ton against India in the three-match series’ decider at Visakhapatnam.
Quinton de Kock scores 23rd ODI century
De Kock equalled Sanath Jayasuriya’s record of the most ODI hundreds against India, and in the process became the seventh batter to have scored seven or more tons against one team in ODI cricket. He joined Virat Kohli, who appears on the list four times, Aaron Finch, Rohit Sharma, Saeed Anwar, Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar (twice) in the exclusive club.
South Africa were put into bat after India won their first toss in 21 international games, and opted to go for a third different opening pair in the ODI series. Markam, who scored a match-winning 110 in Raipur, was dropped to No.5 with the returning Ryan Rickelton partnering de Kock at the top of the order.
Rickelton, however, fell for a second duck in two games before Temba Bavuma (48) joined hands with de Kock to add 113 runs for the second wicket. The southpaw carried on in the same vein even as Matthew Breetzke and Aiden Markram departed in quick succession.
He brought up his hundred in 80 deliveries with a six over square leg. De Kock’s stay in the middle didn’t last much longer, however, as Prasidh Krishna uprooted his stumps for 106 off 89. He was Krishna's third wicket of the day.

The wicketkeeper-batter's first three ODI hundreds against India had come in a three-match series at home in December 2013. He then scored two hundreds in the five-ODI series in India in October 2015 and one more in the home series in January 2022.
