India will host South Africa for two Test matches in November 2025. Here is what the World Test Championship points table looks like ahead of the IND vs SA Test series.
India, South Africa in race for top two
India qualified for the final of the first and second editions of the World Test Championship and lost both. At third place on the points table of the current edition, they are just above South Africa, who won the third edition of the WTC earlier this year.

A 2-0 win will give India a PCT of 70.37, while the same margin will take South Africa to 75. Whoever does it will finish the series at second place, ahead of Sri Lanka. However, a 1-1 draw will keep India to 59.26 and South Africa to 50. Additionally, a 1-0 win will take India to 62.96 or South Africa to 58.33 (assuming the other Test is drawn and not tied).

With a cent per cent record, Australia still hold on to a comfortable lead at the top of the table, but their only series has been against bottom-placed West Indies. Second-placed Sri Lanka, too, has played only one series and two Tests.
New Zealand, the only team without a Test match so far, will commence their journey with a series against the West Indies.
