India squad for West Indies Tests

India's squad for the home Test series against West Indies is supposed to be announced soon - find all latest updates surrounding India's Test squad for the West Indies right here.

When does the West Indies series start?

India's home Test series against the West Indies starts on October 2, four days after the Asia Cup final, which India are favourites to reach. The first Test will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the second match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi between October 10-14.

This will be India's first Test assignment at home after their 3-0 loss against New Zealand last year. Under the leadership of new captain Shubman Gill, the Indian Test team would be looking to start a new chapter at home.

This would also be the first Test tour of India (to play against India) for the West Indies since 2018. In 2019, they won a Test against Afghanistan in Lucknow, but their last Test victory against India in India came in 1994, 31 years back. West Indies have rested lead spinner Gudakesh Motie for the series, and have brought back opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul.

As far as the Indian squad is concerned, there are multiple questions to answer for the selectors, including a middle-order muddle to solve, and identify the backup spinners. With the squad set to be announced this week, find all the latest reports and updates around it here.
