India players have reached new highs in the ICC Test rankings following their dominant victory over West Indies in Ahmedabad last week.
Mohammed Siraj achieves career-best ICC ranking
Mohammed Siraj has risen three spots in the bowling rankings to reach 12th position, a new career-best for him. Siraj took seven wickets in the first Test against West Indies, including figures of 4-40 from 14 overs in the first innings. He is now above West Indies' pacers Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph in the rankings, the latter of whom did not feature in the opening Test.
At the top of the bowling rankings, Jasprit Bumrah has maintained his position at No.1. Bumrah took three wickets in the first innings of the Ahmedabad Test.
Elsewhere in the bowling rankings, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has moved up seven places to joint 21st after he took four wickets in Ahmedabad. Kuldeep shares the position with Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan.
Ravindra Jadeja rises in batting rankings
In the batting rankings, Ravindra Jadeja has risen to his own career-high rating, and moved up six spots in 25th position. Jadeja scored an unbeaten century against West Indies as one of three centurions in India's only innings. Batting at No.5, he finished on 104* off 176 balls, recording the sixth Test century of his career. Jadeja sits one position above Babar Azam in the batting rankings, and one below South Africa's Wiaan Mulder.
England's Joe Root keeps his position at the top of the batting rankings. Root has scored three centuries over six Tests this year, averaging 63.44 since January. During the Anderson-Tendulkar Test series, he overtook Ricky Ponting as the player with the second-most runs of all time in men's Tests, with only Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him.
In the all-rounder rankings, Jadeja once again made significant gains to increase his advantage at the top of the list. Jadeja is alone out in front with a rating of 430. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is his nearest challenger on 305. Lower down the list, Washington Sundar improved his position by four after taking two wickets in Ahmedabad. He now sits in 11th place.
