The ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan might have an effect on the functioning of IPL and PSL: here are the live updates.
India and Pakistan are currently in the middle of a conflict, following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. In the early hours of May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor, termed by the Ministry of Defence as "a precise and restrained response" to target cross-border terror planning hubs.
It led to the close of Pakistan's airspace, as well as operational changes to flights in the neighbouring states of India. The effects are likely to be long-standing, and felt across different sectors of both countries, including sports.
With India and Pakistan both currently hosting their premier T20 tournaments, there's plenty of confusion and conjecture over the future of these tournaments. It's the first time the IPL and PSL are being held in the same window, and both feature a host of international players, criss-crossing through their respective countries as per the schedule.
