Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals while Punjab Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants in Sunday’s (May 4) Indian Premier League matches - here is the updated IPL 2025 points table after the KKR vs RR and PBKS vs LSG games.

KKR clinch last-ball thriller v RR to keep playoff hopes alive

Batting first at Eden Gardens, KKR posted 206-4, fueled by Andre Russell’s blistering comeback knock. Russell scored two runs off his first nine balls and then accelerated to get 55 off the next 16.

Defending the total, KKR dominated early, reducing RR to 71-5 in 7.5 overs. But captain Riyan Parag’s heroic 95 off 45 balls reignited RR’s chase. Needing 21 off the final over, Vaibhav Arora was tasked with closing it out, and he conceded 6,4 and 6 off the third, fourth and fifth deliveries to bring down the equation to three off one ball. It was impact sub Shubham Dubey, who hit those boundaries. Arora kept his cool and bowled a yorker. Dubey (25 not out off 14), having completed the first run, went for the double but fell short of his crease, giving KKR a one-run win.

PBKS outclass LSG in comprehensive victory

At PBKS’ second home game in Dharamsala, they marauded LSG bowlers, scoring 236-5. Prabhsimran Singh starred with a rapid knock. After being dropped by Nicholas Pooran on 21, Prabhsimran went on to score a 48-ball 91, studded with seven sixes and six fours.

LSG’s chase was derailed by a new-ball burst from Arshdeep Singh as he reduced the tourists to 27-3 in 4.2 overs. Rishabh Pant (18 off 17) and David Miller (11 off eight) continued with their patchy form after being dismissed by Azmattulah Omarzai in consecutive overs, leaving LSG reeling at 73-5. Ayush Badoni (74 off 40) and Abdul Samad (45 off 24) tried to revive the innings, but the required run rate was too much to ask for. In the end, LSG fell short by 37 runs.
