Gujarat Titans beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 38 runs in Match 51 of IPL 2025. Here's what the IPL points table looks like after the result.
Batting first, GT’s ever dependable opening duo of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill took them to 87 in 6.5 overs. While Sudharsan continues to lead this season’s run chart with a 23-ball 48, Gill scored 76 off 38, his third half-century on the trot, setting the platform for GT to score 224-6. Gill was run out in a controversial manner, which led to a heated exchange between him and the umpires.
Abhishek Sharma was spearheading SRH's chase but just as he and Heinrich Klaasen were starting to look settled and threatening, Ishant Sharma struck, dismissing Abhishek for 74 off 41 balls to leave SRH 139-3 after 15 overs. The innings lost steam thereafter, with SRH adding just 47 runs from the final five overs to finish at 186-6, falling 38 runs short of victory.

The win propelled GT two spots up to second place. Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings each dropped one position to third and fourth, respectively.
At the other end of the table, SRH remained ninth (second-last), and their playoff hopes now hang by a thread after seven losses in 10 matches. Rajasthan Royals in eighth and Chennai Super Kings in tenth have already been eliminated from playoffs contention.
