Royal Challengers Bengaluru have signed up Blessing Muzarabani for the remainder of IPL 2025. Kolkata Knight Riders have also named a replacement.
Muzarabani joins RCB camp
In a game whose course swung through the entire course of the evening, Lungi Ngidi claimed 3-30 to help the RCB defeat the Chennai Super Kings. That has been his only game of IPL 2025. There was some debate around his wicket of Dewald Brevis in that match.
South Africa has since included Ngidi in their squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia, to begin from June 11 at Lord’s. Since Ngidi will have to join his national squad, RCB have replaced him with Muzarabani, the 28-year-old Zimbabwean fast bowler, for INR 75 lakh.

From 114 T20 games, Muzarabani has 127 wickets at 23.33 while going at 7.24 an over. In T20Is, the numbers read 21.75 and 7.02. He has also played 12 Tests and 55 ODIs. The change will be effective from May 26, the day before before RCB’s last league match, against the Lucknow Super Giants. RCB have already qualified for the playoffs.
Muzarabani has never played in the IPL, but was a net bowler with the LSG in the past.
KKR sign Shivam Shukla
Defending champions KKR, too, will be without the services of Rovman Powell, who will require “a surgical intervention of his tonsils”. They have replaced him with 29-year-old Madhya Pradesh leg-spinner Shukla, for INR 30 lakh.
From eight T20 games – his only professional appearances – Shukla has eight wickets at 23.62 and an economy rate of 6.30. All these matches were in the 2024/25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the final against Mumbai, he conceded 22 in three overs while accounting for the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.
KKR are already out of the playoffs race.
